Checkpoint account help
Delete your account
You can permanently delete your Checkpoint account inside the app or request deletion by email. You do not need to reinstall Checkpoint or sign in to this website to make a request.
Checkpoint is operated by Peter Taves. Support and privacy contact: checkpoint.app.support@gmail.com.
Option 1: Delete inside Checkpoint
- Open Checkpoint and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Open the account or settings area and choose Delete account.
- Follow the confirmation steps shown in the app.
Deleting your account is permanent. It is different from signing out or uninstalling the app.
Option 2: Request deletion by email
No app installation or website login is required. Email checkpoint.app.support@gmail.com with the subject Checkpoint account deletion request.
Send the request from the email address associated with your Checkpoint account when possible, and state that you want your Checkpoint account and associated personal data deleted. If you no longer have access to that email address, explain that in your message so an alternative ownership-verification process can be discussed.
If the button does not open an email application, copy the address above into your preferred email service. Checkpoint may need to verify account ownership before deleting account data. Never send your password, verification codes, or authentication tokens.
An email request is reviewed by Peter Taves; clicking the email link does not itself delete your account.
What will be deleted
- Your active Checkpoint authentication account and profile, including the account email and any username or display name associated with it.
- Your account-owned played-game records and ratings.
- Your private reviews and wishlist.
- Associated cloud synchronization metadata and deletion markers.
When deletion is completed inside the app, Checkpoint also clears that account's local cache, pending changes, and migration backups on that installation.
What may remain
- Provider operational logs and backups: service providers may retain limited operational, security, or backup records according to their own service, continuity, security, and legal requirements. Those records may not disappear immediately after account deletion.
- Data on other offline devices or in exports: deleting an account cannot remotely erase independent copies. Clear app data on other devices and remove any exports you no longer want to keep.
- Guest journals and other accounts' isolated caches: these are separate from the account being deleted and are not removed with it.
- Support correspondence: if you request deletion by email, your message may be retained as long as reasonably necessary to verify and complete the request, maintain appropriate records, and comply with applicable obligations.
- Shared catalog and artwork: these describe games for all users and are not personal account data.
